Three Central Florida nonprofits fighting poverty and homelessness will host a special screening of “The Florida Project” at the Enzian Theater on Nov. 2.
United Against Poverty, the Community Hope Center and the Sharing Center will screen the film at 3:10 p.m., which will be followed by a question-and-answer session about poverty and homelessness in Central Florida.
“The Florida Project,” directed by Sean Baker, tells the story of a six year-old girl and her ragtag group of friends whose summer break is filled with childhood wonder, possibility and a sense of adventure while the adults around them struggle with hard times. The film was shot in Central Florida.
Popcorn and beverages will be provided.
Tickets are $9.
